From European Platform on Life Cycle Assessment You are invited to attend an open technical workshop to discuss draft technical guidance documents of the International Reference Life Cycle Data System (ILCD) in
Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) is core to a rapidly growing number of policies and business instruments such as eco-design, eco-labels, carbon footprints, environmental product declarations, end of life management. Consistency and quality assurance are now essential for a robust decision support.
The European Commission is supporting the development of the ILCD, which consists of the ILCD Handbook and the ILCD Data Network. The ILCD Handbook is a series of technical guidance documents that provide a common basis to ensure quality and consistency of life cycle data, methods, and assessments. The ILCD Data Network supports the availability of data that are compliant with the ILCD Handbook. This Network is free to be used by all providers, with data being accessible under their terms and conditions.
As part of these developments, and as part of the public consultation, a 4 day technical workshop will be hosted in
- General Technical Guidance Document on Life Cycle Assessment
- Guidance Document for Generic and Average Life Cycle Inventory Data Sets
- Requirements for Environmental Impact Assessment Methods, Models and Indicators for Life Cycle Assessment
- Review schemes for Life Cycle Assessment
The tentative agenda for the 4 days follows broadly these draft guidance documents and foresees plenty of room for discussions during sessions.
