The winner of The CESA John Gilbert Apprentice of the Year Award attended NAFEM Show in Florida, USA as part of the prize’s benefits.

The annual CESA Apprentice of the Year Award sponsored by John Gilbert acknowledges and celebrates an apprentice’s exceptional contribution to their workplace.

Emrys was chosen as the winner due to his demonstration of commitment to personal development and progression and showing an outstanding contribution to Plasma Clean.

Emrys is a qualified Welding Fabrication Engineer specialising in Technical Sales.  He advises customers on the specific applications of the products and their role within each project.

During the show, Hughes met many key industry players and attended the USA young executives meeting.

He said: “It was great to meet colleagues and to share knowledge and experiences. I am sure the contacts will be valuable as we all progress our careers in the industry.”

He went on to say that he was grateful to CESA and John Gilbert for initiating the award.  The award, sponsored by the founder of Gilberts Food Service John Gilbert was given at CESA’s November conference.  

The cost of his trip to NAFAM was covered due to winning the award, along with a bursary to cover the costs of his course, VIP access to the recent Professional Kitchen Show and a place at the annual CESA Conference, with one night’s accommodation.

The CESA Apprentice of the Year Award is presented annually to acknowledge and celebrate an apprentice’s exceptional contribution to their workplace.
