H4H WP5 Catering Manufacturers Survey

CESA member input request

Please see below a follow-up request from the project consultants (ERM). Your participation will assist the project in terms of the relevance of its work to our sector so please take the time to complete the questionnaire as best you can.

From ERM

Hy4Heat is a project funded by the UK Government (www.hy4heat.info), looking at the potential transition to hydrogen in the gas distribution network as an alternative to natural gas; the project is split into several work packages.

Work Package 5 (WP5) is set to determine the viability of 100% hydrogen being fed as a fuel gas to gas appliances in the commercial sector (dominated by heating and catering appliances).

In order to achieve the objective of WP5 it is necessary to determine:

Market Characterisation - characterise the commercial gas appliance market in terms of annual sales and estimated installed base.

Technical Challenges - determine the level of barriers associated with the technical challenges of use of 100% H2 in place of natural gas.

Non-Technical Challenges - determine the level of barriers associated with the non-technical challenges of use of 100% H2 in place of natural gas.

The results of this survey should help provide a clear picture of the next steps to be taken within WP5 and the broader Hy4Heat project.
